Water School

Swim skills + great fun

Great programs and instructors to suit all ages. Now that’s a plus!

Infant Aquatics

Designed for infants aged 4 months to 3 years, focusing on water familiarisation and foundational skills.

  • A sensory-based class introducing infants aged 4 to 6 months to the pool environment. Activities include safe holding techniques, pool entry and exit methods, enhancing natural reflexes, basic breath control, and educating parents on infant water safety. Conducted with a guardian in the water, this is a free 20-minute session.

  • For infants aged 6 to 18 months and their carers. Instructor-led activities encompass safe holding techniques, pool entry and exit methods, teaching basic breath control, front and back floats, movement through water, and submersions if the infant is ready. Conducted with a guardian in the water, accommodating up to 8 participants.

  • Tailored for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years, this program builds on skills from Water Bubs, preparing both parents and toddlers for the Learn to Swim (LTS) program. It offers a fun and enriching experience for both.

Learn to Swim

Structured for children aged 3 years and above, focusing on water safety, confidence, and foundational swimming skills.

  • The entry-level class for children with little to no swimming skills or those not comfortable in the water. Emphasizes water safety fundamentals and building water confidence. Key components include water familiarisation, assisted front and back floats, assisted paddle and kick using equipment, learning breath control, initiating submersion skills, and assisted glides. Conducted without a guardian, with up to 3 students per class.

  • For children aged 3 and above who are reasonably comfortable in the water and display some independence. Focuses on staying afloat and achieving short distances of propulsion. Key components include unassisted front and back floats, unassisted paddle and kick action, developing streamlined body position and glides, practicing freestyle arm action, and demonstrating breath control. Conducted without a guardian, with up to 4 students per class.

  • Introduces participants to freestyle swimming skills and techniques over 5-meter lengths. Focuses on proper techniques for kicking, breathing, freestyle stroke, and body positioning. Key components include further refinement of freestyle techniques and water safety focus, including instruction on reach or throw rescues and proper use of personal flotation devices (PFDs) with an emphasis on boat safety. Conducted with up to 4 students per group.

  • Designed for participants who have progressed through earlier levels, focusing on enhancing swimming proficiency and introducing new strokes and techniques.​

Stroke Correction

Advanced programs aimed at refining stroke techniques and preparing swimmers for squad training.

  • Focuses on refining swimming techniques, improving endurance, and introducing advanced swimming skills.

  • Aims to enhance swimming proficiency, focusing on technique refinement, increased endurance, and preparation for competitive swimming.​

  • Prepares swimmers for competitive swimming, focusing on advanced techniques, endurance, and race strategies.

  • Program Availability: Not all programs are available at every facility. To view programs offered at specific locations, log in to the respective facility's iClassPro account.​

  • Assessments and Progression: Students are assessed at the end of each term, with skill assessments available on the Customer Portal. During school holidays, holiday-intensive programs are provided.​

  • We offer discounted rates for individuals who hold a valid concession card, including:

  • Yes, you will need to present your valid concession card each time when paying for casual visits. If you are purchasing a membership or punch pass, you will also need to show your concession card at the time of purchase.

  • iClassPro is the world’s leading class management software we utilise for managing memberships, program bookings, and activities.

    It streamlines scheduling, enrolments, payments, and customer communication, making it easier for patrons to access and enjoy our services.

  • The organisation name is cootamundra.

    Why isn’t the organisation name Leisure and Recreation Group?
    In the iClassPro setup, one of the facilities needs to be deemed and assigned as the primary facility. For our organisation, that primary facility is cootamundra, and it should be referenced in all lowercase.

  • Yes, there is, and we highly encourage our patrons and members to download it.

    • Manage Makeups Know your student won't be able to make it to their next class? Submit future absences within the iClassPro App with Makeups. Use your makeup tokens any time of day by signing your student up for a class. (Makeup tokens are subject to availability and are valid for 60 days.)

    • All-in-One Dashboard
      With the iClassPro App Dashboard, see when payments are due, birthday notifications, and view news articles.

SERVICE NSW

  • As a Service NSW Provider, we currently accept the following vouchers;

    • Active Kids

    • First Lap

  • To claim and redeem your Active Kids Voucher:

    1. Visit sport.nsw.gov.au/activekids, and read the parent Guidelines and Fact Sheets to learn more about the program. 

    2. Create/Log in to your MyServiceNSW account and Complete an Active Kids application.

    3. You will receive a voucher with a unique ID number for each child you register (available to download, print and email).

    4. Redeem your vouchers by filling out our online form. Please allow up to three (3) business days for your voucher to be processed. The voucher amount will be credited to your account to be used towards your program fees.

    To claim and redeem your First Lap Voucher:

    1. Visit https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-first-lap-learn-swim-voucher for information on how to apply for your voucher. 

    2. Create/Log in to your MyServiceNSW account to apply for your voucher.

    3. You will receive a voucher with a unique ID number for each child you register (available to download, print and email).

    4. Redeem your vouchers by filling out our online form. Please allow up to three (3) business days for your voucher to be processed. The voucher amount will be credited to your account to be used towards your program fees.

GENERAL

  • Twelve (12) years of age.
    As per our Supervision at Public Pools Policy and our Stadium Supervision Policy, a person needs to be 12 years of age to attend without adult supervision.

Our kiosk offers a variety of snacks, refreshing beverages, and tasty treats that are perfect for a day of swimming and relaxation. Join us for some fantastic fun fun!
