Stadium Competition Rules + Conditions

The following information outlines the key requirements for the Cootamundra Sports Stadium competitions.

HYGIENE REQUIREMENTS

The safety of all players and staff comes first. As such, players are required to abide by the following:

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitiser, provided at entrance, upon arrival.

  • Bring your own drinks/drink bottles or purchase these from the reception/kiosk.

  • Observe 1.5m social distancing at all times outside of games.

  • Staff will follow the government approved cleaning routine after each game, and all game equipment and entry points to courts will be sanitised.

CHECK IN AND PAYMENTS

We are required to keep a record of all visitors and players to the centre, therefore the following applies:

  • All players must be registered in iClasspro in full (Name, phone number, email address).

  • Individuals must register and fully pay the competition fees prior to the start of the competition.

  • All players must check-in and have their attendance marked prior to starting each game.

  • Cash payments are accepted at the Sports Stadium and at the Cootamundra Swimming Pool, prior to the commencement of the competition. 

ACCESS TO COURTS

Court access is limited to players only. Teams may have substitutes, as normal, on the court side who are to remain seated on the team benches. Spectators must remain seated in the grandstand area and are not permitted on the courts. Children must remain supervised by a responsible person and remain in the grandstand during games.

CAPTAINS RESPONSIBILITY

Each team must have a designated captain when registering for the competition. It is the captain's responsibility to ensure:

  • All players have entered their details correctly and registered on iClasspro prior to commencing the competition.

  • All players have their attendance marked on game night.

  • The use of fill in players to avoid any forfeits and notify staff of this on arrival.

  • Contact the centre, allowing adequate time, in the need of a forfeit, in order for:

    • staff to find fill in players for your team, or

    • staff to notify the other team of a forfeit.

  • Ensure one team member is available at all times during time keeper duties to manage game scoring.

  • Bibs are provided for each team - captains must ensure players are wearing the correct bibs during the game.

  • All team bibs are placed in the basket at the end of your game. 

PLAYERS RESPONSIBILITY + CONDITIONS

The following outlines all players responsibilities and conditions for sports stadium competitions:

  • Players are required to participate in good spirits and show good sportsmanship at all times when they play. 

  • Players are required to be registered and paid in full prior to the competition start date. 

  • Players must have their attendance marked each week prior to playing.

  • Management, staff and umpires reserve the right to remove players from games and the facility in any circumstance. 

  • Players must substitute off the field of play.

  • Players who are aggressive towards other players and/or staff members may be asked to leave the centre and a suspension or full ban may be implemented. Management reserves the right to ban anyone from the sports facility. We take threats and abuse very seriously. Any players deemed to be threatening may be removed immediately and further action may be sought.

  • Any players that participate do so at their own risk.  Indoor sports is a dangerous activity and may cause serious injury or death. Management and all staff hold no responsibility for injury, death or loss of personal property. All injuries must be reported to a staff member at time of injury. Players must fill in an injury incident report before leaving the sports centre. Management reserves the right to refuse insurance to any players that do not fill in an incident report or who are not registered.

REPLACEMENT + CASUAL PLAYERS

  • Replacement players are allowed, and must register on our iClasspro system. These players, if replacing a paid competition player, do not need to pay a fee. A casual player can also play to support a team on a casual basis, and they must pay the $8 casual fee on the night of the competition. The replacement and casual player will be allocated to the competition for that week only and must report to the staff member on duty.

FORFEITS

As a condition of inclusion for your team, we require your team to attend each week unless a bye or match has been scheduled. Should your team be unable to play one of our scheduled games, you are required to attempt to find fill-in players or contact the centre and notify staff of the forfeit.

  • Forfeits should only occur in extreme cases. Please contact us if you are having problems with times or team numbers as we may be able to help you. We have fill-in players who may come down to help your team out.

  • Forfeits will be logged as:

  •  5 - 0 result score for  soccer

  • 10 - 0 result score for netball 

  • 10 - 0 result score for volleyball

  • 20 - 0 result score for basketball

COMPETITION DRAWS + TABLES

Draws and Tables will be allocated once all team positions have been filled. The draw and table details can be found via iClasspro or the facility website. Management reserves the right to adjust and correct draws as required. If a team believes the table information or game results are incorrect, the team captain is to notify the staff in writing ASAP so it can be received and fixed if required.

GAME STOPPAGE

If the game cannot continue due to a major injury or incident the following process will be applies:

  • If the game is in the last ¼ of the game,the result is as per scoreboard at time of injury/incident.

  • If injury occurs prior to the last ¼, the game will be declared no contest and scores recorded as 0-0 therefore points awarded as per a draw.

UMPIRES + REFEREES

  • All umpires/referees go through continual training and testing. We ask all teams to respect umpires and their decisions. If at any time you have a question or need any clarification of the rules, please approach staff for assistance.

  • No abuse of umpires/referees will be tolerated! Any player who infringes this rule will be sent from the court and may face suspension from competitions.

  • If you are unsatisfied with the level of umpire/referee please notify management. Games rules can be found on the stadium notice board or on the facility website.

FINALS

The top two teams will play the finals in the last week of the competition. The goal difference will be used to determine the higher ranked team if two teams have the same points. Players participating in the finals match must: be registered or have paid a casual fee, signed in and have played at least two (2) games in the competition. The winning team for the competition will be presented with a competition prize on the final night. We encourage other teams in the competition to come and support the teams in the finals.
